Police confiscated Tuesday night more than P400,000 worth of shabu and dried marijuana, and an unlicensed firearm from two illegal drug suspects in a buy-bust in Quezon City on Tuesday night.
Anti-illegal drug operatives of Quezon City Police District’s Talipapa Police Station (PS-3) nabbed suspects Billyser Villeta and Rodolfo Viola, both 41 and residents of Barangay Culiat.
Police said the two men were included in Barangay Culiat’s anti-drug abuse council (BADAC) watchlist. They were allegedly using and selling illegal drugs, particularly shabu and marijuana, in the area.
This prompted the operatives of PS-3 Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) to conduct a drug sting against Villeta and Viola at No. 32 Central Avenue in Barangay Culiat at around 9:45 p.m.
An undercover cop purchased R1,000 worth of illegal drugs from the suspects.
After the transaction, responding officers immediately collared the duo who yielded 10 sachets of shabu worth at least P408,000 and 10 grams of dried marijuana leaves amounting to P2,000.
Also recovered from the duo were an unlicensed 9mm Norinco Pistol with ammunition, a weighing scale, a cellular phone used in the drug deal, and the buy-bust money.
Charges for drug-related case and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition will be filed against the arrested suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s office.
The confiscated illegal drugs will be turned over to the QCPD Crime Laboratory Office. (Alexandria San Juan)
