A man who was about to visit his detained friend also ended up in jail after trying to smuggle two sachets of suspected shabu stuffed in bread last Friday in Quezon City.
Arrested by personnel of the Quezon City Police District Station 7 (Cubao) was 47-year-old Pedro Pacatang Jr., resident of Mandaluyong City.
A report showed that Pacatang went to the detention cell of the QCPD Station 7 in Camp Panopio on P. Tuazon St. near corner EDSA in Cubao at around 9:30 p.m. to visit his friend Jhon Umale.
Police said Umale, who was a colleague of the suspect at Sputnik Gang, was recently nabbed for illegal gambling.
According to probers, Pacatang was about to enter the facility when he was asked to undergo a routine inspection.
During frisking, the duty jailer found two sachets of shabu stuffed inside the two buns he brought, resulting in his arrest. Strips of aluminum foil were also confiscated from the suspect.
Pacatang is now under custody of the QCPD Station 7 and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the QCPD Crime Laboratory Office. (Alexandria San Juan)
