LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A former city village chief died Monday after a passenger bus hit him while crossing the street at the compound of Lucena City Government Complex in Barangay Kanlurang Mayo, this city.
Lucena City police head Police Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea identified the victim as Pedrito Ranillo, 76, former village chief of Barangay Talao-Talao.
Albacea said that the victim was driving his motorcycle and was about to cross towards the diversion road when he was hit by a Cagsawa Travel and Tours bus (EVY 875) driven by Roberto Trinidad, 51. The bus was enroute to Manila.
Due to impact the victim fell on the ground head first.
Responding members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) of City Bureau of Fire Protection declared the victim dead. (Danny Estacio)
