Malacañang yesterday disclosed that President Duterte wishes to bring lasting peace to the country and give a comfortable life to every Filipino in the upcoming new year.
Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said Duterte wants the country to achieve peace.
“Ang wish list ni Presidente, ever since, ay bigyan ng kapayapaan, lasting peace ang ating kababayan,” Panelo said.
“’Yung mga kumukontra sa Estado ay sumali na sa agos ng pag-akyat ng ating lipunan sa mataas na antas ng progreso,” he added.
Duterte recently announced that he was giving the peace talks with the communist rebels one last chance. He formally scrapped the peace talks in November 2017 due to the communist rebels’ insincerity.
According to Panelo, Duterte’s other wish is to fulfill his promise of a comfortable life for all. “Gusto niya na magkaroon ng komportableng buhay ang bawat Pilipino. ‘Yun ang palaging wish ng Presidente taun-taon,” he said.
Panelo had earlier said that this year is an exemplary year for the Philippines as Duterte implemented difficult but game-changing reforms such as the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, and the “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure program, among others.
“These are important in achieving our goal of bringing a more comfortable life for all Filipinos,” he said. (Argyll Geducos)
