Malacañang yesterday urged Filipinos to continue supporting the Duterte administration next year as it welcomed the survey saying that majority of Filipinos will welcome the New Year with hope.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar made the statement after a recent Social Weather Stations survey showed that 96 percent of adult Filipinos said they will welcome 2020 with hope while only four percent said they will welcome the New Year with fear.
“We are heartened that majority of Filipinos will welcome 2020 with hope as reflected in the recent SWS survey,” Andanar said.
“We Filipinos by nature are very optimistic and forward-looking and can often see the best in the most trying of circumstances, a trait that allowed us to succeed against all odds,” he added.
Andanar assured the public that the Duterte administration will continue its pursuit of giving every Filipino a comfortable life.
“But beyond just mere optimism, the Duterte administration is dedicated to empowering and enabling every Filipino in order for them to achieve their full potential and live a comfortable life through its social and economic policies and programs,” he said.
“It also remains committed to fostering a civil society that is involved in the government’s process of addressing the people’s needs and concerns, and creating local communities that take part in achieving peace and order,” he added.
Andanar called on Filipinos to continue supporting the Duterte administration and work together for a better future.
“We ask everyone to support our government, it is through the participation of those in the government and of its citizens that we can continue and further the achievements of the administration thus far,” Andanar said. (Argyll Geducos)
