IMUS CITY, Cavite — A couple was arrested over the weekend by a joint police team after they were reportedly caught with five kilos of suspected shabu worth P34 million in a buy-bust operation at the parking lot of a mall on Nueno Avenue in Barangay Tanzang Luma I, this capital city.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported that Emard Jimenez and Gretchen Jimenez of Ususan, Taguig City, Metro Manila, was nabbed by the team at the car park at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
The operation was conducted by the officers from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), PPO and the Police Regional Office (PRO)-IV-A Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Imus police.
The team held the couple after they received money from a police poseur-buyer following a transaction.
The “shabu” that the team seized from the couple were placed in a transparent plastic pack and a tea bag.
The couple was brought to the PDEA headquarters after their arrest.

The couple was among the latest drug suspects nabbed by police in the neighboring cities of Dasmarinas, Bacoor, Imus and General Trias.
At least four suspects, including a barangay councilor and a tanod (watchman), were caught with a bulk of shabu worth millions of pesos in buy-bust operations.
Meanwhile, a man was shot in the head by a still unidentified assailant as he was walking along a street on P. Burgos Street in Barangay Kanluran, Rosario, a municipality in Cavite’s 1st district.
Police identified the victim as Jessie Pascual Tan.
Tan died on the spot.
