The Manila Police District-Traffic Enforcement Unit yesterday announced road closures and rerouting of traffic for the Black Nazarene thanksgiving procession today.
The thanksgiving procession marks the start of the nine-day novena mass for the Feast of the Black Nazarene on Jan. 9.
The MPD-TEU said the eastbound lane of Claro M. Recto Ave. from Rizal Ave. to Sergio H. Loyola St. and southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard (Quiapo) from A. Mendoza to Fugoso to Plaza Miranda and Espana-P.Campa St.-Lerma St. will be closed to traffic for all types of vehicles at around 8:30 p.m. tonight.
Vehicles traveling from Quezon City using the southbound lane of Espana Ave. should turn right to P. Campa St. then turn left to A. Mendoza St., right to Fugoso St., then turn left to Rizal Ave. to point of destination.
All motorists utilizing Quezon Boulevard coming from A. Mendoza St. should turn right to Fugoso St. and left to Rizal Ave. to point of destination.
All vehicles utilizing the eastbound lane of C.M. Recto Ave. coming from Divisoria should turn left to Rizal Ave. to point of destination.
The MPD-TEU said the route of the procession will start at Plaza Miranda, left Quezon Boulevard, right C.M. Recto Ave., right Sergio Loyola St., right Bilibid Viejo St., left Gil Puyat St., left Z.P de Guzman St. (Mendoza St.), right R. Hidalgo St., left Quezon Boulevard through under Quezon Bridge through Palanca St., and right Villalobos St. to Plaza Miranda.
The MPD-TEU said the actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on actual traffic condition. (Erma Edera)
