A low-pressure area may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow, the State weather bureau said yesterday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration last spotted the LPA at 1,930 kilometers east of Mindanao.
PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the LPA is expected to enter the country tomorrow but has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said that the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will continue to bring light rains over Northern and Central Luzon this weekend.
Cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon due to the amihan.
PAGASA warned residents that intermittent strong winds especially in coastal and mountainous areas affected by the amihan are possible.
The amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean are forecast to bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Visayas. (Alexandria San Juan)
