Prelates have offered prayers amid the eruption of Taal Volcano.
The Catholic Church leaders asked God to calm down the volcano and protect the people from harm.
Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos also issued a similar prayer.
“We ask that you restore the calmness of Taal Volcano. We know nothing is impossible to you and you are always in control. May the boiling lava subside and molten rocks cool down,” Santos said in his prayer.
“Instill your compassionate presence in us so we may calm our fears. Continue to keep us all safe under your divine protection.”
According to the prelate, he will ask priests in his diocese to recite the prayer in their holy masses.
Santos said they also sent the prayer to the Filipino chaplaincies in Bergamo, Milan, Padova, Rome, and Venice in Italy since Batangas is primarily a land-based OFW province and they are mostly in Italy.
He said this is to show their solidarity with the Archdiocese of Lipa and support to OFWs from Batangas. (Leslie Aquino)
