Centro Escolar University (CEU) has confirmed that Jeff Napa will be taking over as head coach of the CEU Scorpions following the resignation of Derrick Pumaren.
With the departure of Pumaren, who also acted as manager of the Scorpions, Jefferson Plaza has also been named as team manager.
Pumaren has since returned to the La Salle as coach of the Archers who are eager to return to the top of UAAP.
Also, it was Napa’s basketball history that helped him land the position.
He is a three-time UAAP Juniors Basketball champion coach (2011, 2013 and 2015) of National University.
He was also part of the coaching staff of the Letran Knights that bagged the last NCAA men’s Seniors crown.
He also played for the National University Bulldogs in the UAAP Men’s seniors from 1997 to 2005.
Napa will get his baptism of fire as CEU head coach this coming Jan. 23 when the Scorpions participate in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL).
In February, CEU springs back to action in the 2020 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup. (BrianYalung)
