Ai Ai delas Alas is back doing what she does best, making audiences laugh.
Her new film, “D’ Ninang,” produced by Regal Entertainment, has her portraying a Robin Hood-type of character.
In short, she steals to help the needy.
“Kaya nga D’ Ninang, parang babaeng version ng ‘The Godfather.’
She made clear though, she is not condoning thievery whatever the intention.
“Ang mali ay mali,” Aiai says.
But why a film about stealing in the first place?
In the end, may aral na kapupulutan ang audience.”
The film’s trailer is now out on social media and is enjoying a good amount of clicks.
Many believe this bodes well for the film.
Some sectors are in fact already predicting a hit for Aiai but the actress herself would have none of it.
“Ayoko isipin, ayoko pa-pressure,” she says. Basta kami we did our best naman na magawang maganda ang pelikula. Kung tumabo e di maganda.”
“Kasi nga mahirap e,” she adds. So, ‘wag na. Antay na lang tayo ng totoong result.”
In any case, Aiai maintains, “Pampamilya ‘to, ibang klaseng istorya naman ‘to.
Adding spice to the film is the newest tandem of McCoy de Leon and Kisses Delavin.
Also in the cast are Kiray Celis, Angel Guardian, Kelvin Miranda, Joey Marquez, and Lou Veloso.
Directed by GB Sampedro, “D’ Ninang” opens Jan. 22. (Neil Ramos)
