Seven people, including three children aged one to five, died while three others were injured in a collision between a pickup and a tricycle in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur last Saturday.
A report reaching Camp Crame, Quezon City yesterday stated that six of the fatalities were identified as tricycle driver Dionesio, 27; Imelda, 50; Jenalyn, 28; Bernadeth, 25; three-year-old Sabrena; and five-year-old Stephany, all surnamed Dahili.
Police said they were all on board a tricycle and were declared dead on the spot.
The seventh fatality, identified as one-year-old Ysa Banque, also died on the spot. She was on board a pickup driven by Mark Junrell Flores.
Police traffic investigators said the tricycle was heading to the town proper of Prosperidad at around 11 a.m. when it was hit by the pick-up on the national highway in Barangay Patin-ay.
Reportedly, the tricycle was hit after the pick-up appeared to be overtaking another vehicle.
The collision resulted in the death of the seven victims while three others, identified as seven-year-old Dionabella, five-year-old Diosabelle, and Alfred Minoza were injured.
The two injured victims were on board the tricycle.
The driver of the pick-up, according to the police, is unharmed. He is now under police custody.
