DAVAO CITY – Government authorities arrested five people, including a minor, allegedly involved in gunrunning and illegal drug trade in North San Juan, Barangay Centro in Agdao District on Thursday.
Four of the suspects were identified as Christian Jauve Libaton Alapag, Harris Ocon Bendula, Jauvany Torres Agravante, Paul John Tenio Nuez. The name of the minor suspect was withheld.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Davao City Field Unit head Major Milgrace Driz said the five suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by their unit, the Sasa Police Station and Philippine Drugs
Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA-11) at 5:40 a.m. in North San Juan, following an investigation.
Driz said the suspects were identified as members of the Sabani Crime Group, which has been reportedly engaged in gunrunning and peddling of illegal drugs in the area of Davao City and neighboring provinces in Davao Region.
The police recovered one .45-caliber pistol, one magazine loaded with three live ammunition, one plastic sachet of suspected shabu, and the marked money from the suspects. (Ivy Tejano)
