CEBU CITY – A policewoman was allegedly killed by her policeman husband inside their house in Barangay Centro, Tubigon, Bohol yesterday.
The fatality was identified as Police Staff Sgt. Juliet Tuquib, assigned to the Clarin, Bohol police station, and the suspect as Police Staff Sgt. Ariel Tuquib, of the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas in Cebu City.
The couple’s househelp told police that she was in the kitchen when she heard two gunshots coming from her employers’ room at around 7 a.m.
She rushed to the couple’s room but the door was locked, prompting her to call the police.
Responding policemen forcibly opened the door and found Ariel sitting on the bed with a bullet wound in the face.
Beside Ariel was his wife, who had a bullet wound below her left eye.
Police recovered a 9 mm caliber pistol in the room.
The Tuquibs were taken to the Tubigon Municipal Hospital where Juliet was declared dead and Ariel in critical condition.
Police Corporal Christian Noel, case officer, said that investigation showed that the couple had been arguing before the incident.
