Metro Manila police chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas ordered on Wednesday an in-depth investigation on the death of two Chinese in a gun attack that also killed a Filipino and wounded two children in Taguig City.
Sinas said police investigators are now coordinating with establishment owners which installed closed-circuit television (CCTV) near the crime scene in order to get details on the identity of the gunmen.
The fatalities were identified as 42-year-old Ninjie Zhang, a certain Kauyu, and their Filipino companion identified as a certain Noel who was reportedly a resident of Cavite.
The two wounded victims are aged five and 12.
Based on the investigation, Sinas said all the victims were on board a black sedan-type vehicle (ABP 8026) which was travelling along General Avenue in Taguig City on Tuesday afternoon.
When the vehicle reached the area fronting the Department of Science and Technology (DoST), four gunmen started shooting the car.
All the victims were hit except for the wife of one of the Chinese.
The five wounded victims were all taken to the nearby hospital where the three victims were declared dead.
“The suspects fled and are now the subject of our follow-up operations,” said Sinas.
The official said they are yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
