The low-pressure area east of the country will likely bring some rains over Visayas and Mindanao by the middle of this week.
PAGASA weather specialist Joey Figuracion said the LPA is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or around 1,550 kilometers east of Mindanao yesterday morning.
It will likely enter the PAR today.
The weather disturbance has a minimal probability of developing into a tropical cyclone as of the moment but its trough or extension may bring light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains during severe thunderstorms in the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao starting tomorrow.
Figuracion said the LPA may further move inland and bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over most of Visayas and Mindanao by Thursday.
For now, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” remains the dominant weather system prevailing across the country.
