University of Perpetual Help System DALTA rebounded from an opening set loss and conquered Emilio Aguinaldo College, 20-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-17, to earn at least a playoff berth in the next round in the NCAA Season 95 volleyball tournament Monday at The Arena in San Juan City.
Jhona Rosal led the Lady Altas with 17 points highlighted by two service aces, while Dana Persa came off the bench to produce 11 points, 12 digs and six receptions for Perpetual Help, which suffered a stunning 20-25, 19-25, 16-25 setback to San Beda University last Friday.
With its sixth win in eight games, Perpetual Help solidified its grip for the No. 3 spot in the standings behind leader College of St. Benilde (7-0) and defending three-time champion Arellano University (6-1).
Perpetual Help hopes to formalize its entry to the semifinals on its final game in the elimination against Letran on Thursday.
Meantime, Louie Ramirez scored 17 points, including two service aces, as defending two-time men’s titlist Perpetual Help beat EAC, 25-23, 29-27, 28-26, to move within a win claiming an outright Finals berth with a perfect 8-0 record.
The Lady Blazers will also advance outright to the finals if they sweep their remaining two games – against Mapua on Friday and opposite Arellano on Monday.
But if CSB loses to Arellano, the traditional Final Four format of crossover between 1-4 and 2-3 will be applied. In that case, the top two teams will earn twice-to-beat incentives.
