Expect overcast skies and low temperatures this weekend as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” still persists across the country.
PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the country is less likely to be affected by a low-pressure area or tropical cyclone in the next two to three days.
The northeast monsoon will continue to be the prevailing weather system across the country until the weekend.
Mendoza said cloudy skies with light amihan rains may affect Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likely experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light monsoon rains.
Based on the PAGASA’s extended weather outlook, minimum temperature range in Metro Manila from Feb. 14 to 17 is between 21 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius.
The PAGASA Science Garden Monitoring Station in Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 20.8 degrees Celsius around 4:50 a.m. yesterday.
Minimum temperature in Baguio City is forecast at 12 degrees Celsius to 13 degrees Celsius during the same period. Its minimum temperature yesterday was registered at 12 degrees Celsius. (Ellalyn Ruiz)
