If it is for a cause, PBA legend Allan Caidic is ready to serve and help – anytime.
One of the deadliest shooters the PBA has ever produced, Caidic will banner a selection of pro league legends and UNTV players in the Wish Olympics this Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Basta puwede ako makatulong handa ako parati,” said the one-time PBA MVP aptly called “Triggerman.”
The beneficiaries of the one-day event organized by UNTV through its President and CEO Dr. Daniel Razon are the victims of Taal Volcano eruption last month.
“Nakakaawa ang mga kababayan natin sa Batangas so dapat lang damayan natin,” added Caidic.
Joining Caidic in the team that will face the Celebrity team are Chris Calaguio and former MVP winners Johnny Abarrientos, Jayjay Helterbrand and Willie Miller.
Last year, Calaguio, Miller and Abarrientos also played in an event that benefited former PBA players.
Other members of their team are Rod Vasallo of PITC, Anton Tolentino of PNP, Julius Casaysayan of Agriculture and GSIS’ Carlo Gonzalez and Macky Escalona.
Comprising the celebrity squad are Mark Herras, Ejay Falcon, JayR, Young JV, Jordan Herrera, Adrian Alandy, James Blanco, Albie Casino, Gerhard Acao, Axel Torres and Rayver Cruz.
“It’s going to be an exciting event so I hope basketball fans will watch this fund-raising game,” added Caidic, who remains sharp at 56.
The PBA legends will be handled by Ed Cordero while calling the shots for the celebrity team is Emman Monfort.
Atoy Co, another PBA legend, will be the event’s director of mathes.
Apart from a basketball game, there will also be a volleyball exhibition match between celebrities and current players from various leagues.
Among the celebrities who have confirmed their participations are Gretchen Ho, Claudia Barreto, Aya Fernandez and Gwen Zamora.
