A police lieutenant and police staff sergeant who is in President Duterte’s list of alleged narco-cops tested positive for illegal drugs use, National Capital Region Police Office chief Police Major Gen. Debold Sinas said.
Sinas said he has ordered the filing of charges against the two Metro Manila policemen.
He identified them as Police Lt. Rodel Torres, assigned to Muntinlupa City, and Police Staff Sgt. Ronald Carpio, who was recently assigned to the NCRPO.
“They were both tested positive for using shabu as revealed by the result of the drug test,” said Sinas.
Sinas had earlier conducted random drug test among the NCRPO personnel to identify policemen who are hooked on drugs.
The urine samples of Torres and Carpio tested positive for shabu. Two same urine samples were used during the confirmatory test which confirmed earlier results.
Sinas disclosed that Carpio is among the 357 policemen in Duterte’s list of alleged narco-cops.
All those in the list are now being subjected to one-month adjudication.
“Appropriate administrative charges will be filed against these two policemen and follow-up investigations are being conducted,” said Sinas.
He said that random drug testing will continue as part of their internal cleansing. (Aaron Recuenco)
