The Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to file this week the results of its adjudication on the cases of 356 policemen who were included in the drug list of President Duterte.
PNP chief Archie Gamboa said the entire process of adjudication is smoothly ongoing at the national level which is the second and final stage of the adjudication process.
The first stage was at the local level, or mother units of the policemen implicated in illegal drugs trade.
In the case of Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido, he was already cleared at the first adjudication but the results would have to be forwarded to the National Adjudication at Camp Crame for final review.
“We are confident of submitting the final results to President Duterte during our command conference,” said Gamboa.
The command conference is scheduled on March 5.
Gamboa said that what would be submitted to the President would be recommendations for both guilty and not guilty results of the adjudication.
He said it is up to the President to decide on the cases.
It was recalled that Gamboa personally asked Duterte to let the PNP handle the cases of all policemen being linked to illegal drugs, to which the President had agreed.
The policemen on the list originally was 357 but one of them was shot dead a few days before the adjudication started.
At least 14 of them availed of optional retirement but Gamboa said it will not spare them in the conduct of the investigation.
