Dry and hot weather is upon us as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” season is almost over.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Joey Figuracion said air temperature in Metro Manila will range between 25 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius within the next three days.
Last Sunday, PAGASA recorded the highest temperatures so far this year at 35 degrees Celsius in Quezon City, 35.5 degrees Celsius in Pasay City, and 35.5 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City.
Figuracion said the warm weather may persist until tomorrow with the prevalence of the easterlies or the warm and humid winds coming from the Pacific.
Warm mornings are usually followed by sudden but short-lived rains in the late afternoon or early evening.
Figuracion, however, noted that the amihan will have a brief comeback by tomorrow but will no longer be as cold as in past weeks. He said just the tip of Northern Luzon may feel the cold amihan breeze.
“The amihan will temporarily weaken again towards the weekend before another weak cold surge occurs next week,” Figuracion added. (Ellalyn Ruiz)
