The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority indefinitely suspended yesterday the number coding scheme for private and public vehicles, following the declaration of President Duterte of a community quarantine in Metro Manila.
“Number coding for private and public vehicles is now lifted starting this hour until further notice,” Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, MMDA spokesperson, said.
She said the suspension will be indefinite as the agency and other concerned departments will have to assess the situation on a day-to-day basis.
“This is because of the ‘community quarantine’ that President Duterte announced. The lifting of number coding scheme is indefinite as we have to assess on a day-to-day basis,” she said.
“We will announce if the number coding scheme will be imposed again,” Pialago added. (Jel Santos)
