The Philippines will implement a travel ban for those coming from the United Kingdom and Ireland as part of the government’s effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country.
This was contained in a travel advisory issued by the Philippine Embassy in London in line with the resolution adopted by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease.
According to the Embassy, the expanded travel ban will prevent individuals coming from countries with localized transmission of the virus from entering the Philippines, except for Filipino nationals and their dependents, holders of Philippine permanent residence visas and Philippine diplomatic visas.
“Those coming from the UK and Ireland will be affected by the travel ban,” it said. (Roy Mabasa)
