Police sent home students who took advantage of the month-long class suspension by going to computer shops and other places in Manila last Thursday.
The Manila Police District-Special Mayor’s Reaction Team combed the stretch of Bilibid Viejo St., Loyola St., and Quiapo and sent home students who continue to visit public leisure places despite the threat of the novel coronavirus disease-2019.
Following the suspension of classes in Metro Manila until April 12, the Department of Interior and Local Government urged local government units to keep students away from crowded places to prevent mass spreading of COVID-19.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno had earlier told students to take the threat of COVID-19 seriously.
“To the students, don’t take this situation lightly. Limit your social interactions for now. Stay at home, stay with your family. Be vigilant,” he said. (Minka Tiangco)
