BACOLOD CITY – All land, sea, and air travel to and from Bacolod City are restricted.
This, after Mayor Evelio Leonardia on March 15 issued Executive Order No. 21 Series of 2020, declaring the city under general community quarantine effective immediately.
Leonardia made such declaration following the quick and alarming increase in the number of infections and deaths caused by Coronavirus Disease (COVID)-2019 in the country, as stated in the order.
A copy of the order was sent to the media on Sunday night.
Leonardia cited in the order the Memorandum from Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea on “stringent social distancing measures and further guidelines for the management of COVID-19 situation,” referring the general community quarantine as a state where movement of people shall be limited to accessing basic necessities and work, and uniformed personnel and quarantune officers shall be present at border points.
