In the wake of the enhanced community quarantine, the Media Office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has created an online platform for the faithful’s prayer requests.
CBCP media director Monsignor Pedro Quitorio said the faithful may now send their prayer request through the website of CBCP News.
“Amid the corona virus disease (COVID-19) crisis, we are encouraged to make good use of the digital technology for our pastoral concerns and liturgical celebrations,” Quitorio said in a CBCP News post.
To request for mass intentions, CBCP News has provided a form on its website that may be used for such purpose. Msgr. Quitorio said, they will then ask priests to say the Holy Mass online for their intentions.
Since public masses remain suspended, CBCP News has also listed the online masses being offered in different dioceses around the country.
Meanwhile, Archdiocese of Manila Apostolic Administrator Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo stressed that the observance of the Holy Week, which begins on April 5, Palm Sunday, will push through although there will be no public masses and mass gatherings.
Pabillo said the faithful may observe Palm Sunday even without palm fronds (palaspas) and may just focus on the readings for the celebration which may be viewed online and on TV. (Christina I. Hermoso)
