Hi Ms. Rica,
Sabi ko po ngayong Holy Week ay mag-aabstain po muna ako sa sex. Ano po ba ang mga pwede kong gawin para hindi po ako ma-tempt? Thank you po.
No no no
Hello No no no,
Ipapadala ko sa iyo itong sagot ko sa dati nang nagtanong niyan. Thank you for being honest with your letter.
Kahit naman sino ay pwedeng magkaroon ng sexual urges, desires, and feelings, kahit na nagdecide ka na hindi ka gagawa ng kahit anong related dito.
These sexual desires and urges are normal and part of our functioning as human beings. Anyone can have these urges and desires, and each one of us has a choice on what to do about them.
Regardless of the choice, it is healthy to be able to acknowledge and accept these desires and not repress them. In your case, you acknowledged that you do have sexual urges, but you choose not to engage in any sexual behavior. And that’s great for you! For others, they choose to be sexually active.
Again, whatever the choice is, these desires and urges are a natural and healthy part of our functioning. Now that we’ve established that it’s healthy to acknowledge and accept these sexual desires and urges, let’s talk about what you can do after.
Sabi mo, ayaw mo gumawa ng kahit anong sexual in nature. Now, what you need to do is be able to channel these sexual energy into other activities.
Kapag naramdaman mo na na nagkakaraoon ka ng sexual urge to touch yourself or be sexual with another person, you may engage in the following activities and be able to release this energy in the form of: Exercising, Dancing, Meditating, Reading a book, Shopping, Playing video games, Watching TV or movies, Cooking, Praying.
These are just some of the things that you can do to redirect your sexual energy. Though it may be challenging at first, lalo na kung sanay ka na ikaw ay sexually active, with conscious effort, you may be able to do it!
Good luck and have a good and blessed Holy Week!
With love and lust,
Rica
