After calling on the public to show support to frontliners fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles posted his own TikTok video to honor those putting their lives at risk to save others.
Nograles yesterday posted a 45-second TikTok video of him dancing to a sped-up version of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” dedicated to the country’s frontliners.
“Walang hanggang pasasalamat para sa ating mga #frontliners na kahit ano man panahon o kalamidad ay patuloy na nagseserbisyo para sa Inang Bayan,” he said in a tweet.
The tweet, which had 3,547 views, 160 likes, and 29 retweets as of posting time, however, was not well received.
Some thought Nograles’ dance was “cute” while some thought it was a waste of time that could have been spent coming up with better policies.
“There are things that should’ve been kept in the draft,” Twitter user @mrc199x told Nograles.
“At your level, I think the best way to thank all #frontliners is to ensure that you do your part as Cabinet Secretary to harmonize all agencies and avoid contradicting policies and actions. Ensure transparency. Hindi TikTok, ano Sir ?” he added.
Nograles, in response, assured the public that government work, despite being the Black Saturday, never stopped.
“Yes, Sir. I’m doing that. Thank you,” Nograles replied, posting a photo of him in a Zoom meeting with other members of the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases. (Argyll Geducos)
