A Quezon City-run hospital will undergo thorough disinfection after some of its employees were tested positive for the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19).
In a statement, Dr. Maria Rosela Espinar officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital (RMBGH) said the hospital’s wards, emergency room, admitting section, and other critical areas will undergo wall-to-wall disinfection.
She assured that the “other frontliners who have been in close contact with those who tested positive for the virus have already undergone self-quarantine during the temporary shutdown.”
Espinar guaranteed that there should be no cause for fear as the hospital’s patients are safe with the hospital continuing its regular operations.
“The public may go to the Quezon City General Hospital and Novaliches District Hospital for outpatient operations and other medical needs,’’ Espinar said.
Latest reports disclosed that 764 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Quezon City with 60 deaths 45 recoveries.
Also an estimated 150 Quezon City residents from the city’s various barangays were tested for COVID-19 yesterday at the Quezon Memorial Circle.
Project Director Joseph Juico said those included in the pilot mass testing for COVID-19 have been recommended by the Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) in coordination with the barangays.
“These people are identified by the district health officers and are suspected COVID-19 patients with symptoms.
He added that the community based COVID-19 testing started at 8 a.m. where the 150 persons were divided into four batches’’.
Juico said the city government provided one vehicle for each patient to ensure social distancing. (Chito Chavez)
