VIRAC, Catanduanes – The Department of Health Regional Office has confirmed the first coronavirus disease (COVID 19) positive case here.
In a statement released early Sunday morning, Department of Health (DoH) reported a total of 25 confirmed cases after six more patients tested positive for COVID-19 in Bicol region.
A 63-year old woman from Catanduanes is the 25th case in Bicol with a history of travel to Japan and was admitted last March 12, 2020 at the Eastern Bicol Medical Center in Virac.
The patient is said to be asymptomatic and is on home quarantine. No other detail was released yet.
Along with this new case are four others from Albay.
Two persons under investigation ( PUIs) tested negative for COVID-19 while three are awaiting results. These bring the total number of PUIs with negative results to 175 while the total recorded PUIs is 203.
DoH Bicol is calling for vigilance, preparedness and solidarity to win the battle against COVID-19, reiterating that the fight against the dreaded disease is not yet over. (Jinky Tabor)
