CAMP COL. RAFAEL C.RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis, Caraga police launched an anti-illegal drugs operations that resulted in the confiscation of shabu in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, on Wednesday, officials reported Friday.
Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel, Jr. said the operation led to the arrest of the suspect whose identity was withheld pending the arrest of his contact or supplier.
The suspect was nabbed by Drug Enforcement Unit operatives of San Francisco Municipal Police Station during a buy-bust at Purok-7, Barangay San Isidro, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Confiscated from the suspect were 18 sachets of suspected shabu worth P59,000; P500 buy-bust money, and P500 cash, according to police report.
The arrested suspect is now facing charges for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Esquivel said. (Mike Crismundo)
