EXPERT ADVICE: In the midst of hundreds of stories swirling around the Net and mainstream media about this coronavirus, people often get confused or misled, or are thrown into panic mode.
Thank God there’s Dr. Willie T. Ong, who uses his strong presence in social media to teach people the right, logical way to understand, avoid, or live with COVID-19.
Dr. Ong, cardiologist and philanthropist, regularly posts on Facebook and YouTube, short videos explaining how people should deal with corona. In one of these videos, he says homes should allow free flow of sunlight and air to rid them of viruses.
Although it hasn’t been formally established yet, Dr. Ong noted that latest studies point to the lower incidence of COVID-19 in warm, temperate countries as opposed to those countries with cold weather.
He also says taking walks in the park, with a mask but with no social interaction, is good exercise.

THE GOOD DOCTOR: Who is Dr. Willie T. Ong?
As a child being driven to school in the morning, Doc Willie often saw a boy about his age of 10 selling newspapers.
Little Willie would roll down the car window, and give the boy five pesos, half of his 10-peso daily allowance.
Stories about the kindness, generosity, and helpfulness of this remarkable doctor, columnist and author of books, are a-plenty. They form part of a bio-movie, directed by Ronnie Ricketts.
