Some 60 families were rendered homeless when a fire broke out at a residential area in Barangay 60, Tondo, Manila Sunday morning.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)- Manila, the blaze started at a three-story residential building at the corner of Peñalosa Street and Gatmaitan Street at about 6:14 a.m.
It reached the second alarm after four minutes and was declared under control at around 6:49 a.m. The fire was put out at around 6:58 a.m.
Investigation showed that the fire burned 30 houses.
Fire investigators pegged the fire damage at around P300,000.
The BFP-Manila said there was no reported casualty in the fire incident.
Fire investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire. (Minka Tiangco)
