IN the time of COVID-19, there are some sightings worth mentioning.
Wild animals have been seen roaming urban areas and city streets.
In South Africa’s popular Kruger National Park, spotted was a pride of 15 lions napping in the middle of an empty paved road, says The New York Post.
Other sighting includes those of mountain goats in downtown Llandudno, Wales. Wild boars in Corsica. Buffaloes and monkeys in a New Delhi highway.
Such scenes have suddenly become commonplace from South Africa to the South Australian city of Adelaide.
These animals have taken advantage of the peace and quiet in urban areas that they have come down to explore, experience them.
We can’t ask for more.
Have you noticed how this lockdown has cleaned the air in Metro Manila? The fresher environment has also attracted entry of new birds in my neighborhood.
Where there used to be mayas only, we just saw a flock of small birds with yellow stripes on their chest.
A friend from Quezon City says he saw a crow up on a big tree in his neighborhood recently. It was making that eerie, scary sound.
The dreamer in me hopes we can see fireflies again one day soon.
