The Bureau of Customs (BoC) announced on Friday the seizure of a shipment of medicines from Taiwan, which has no clearance from the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Customs District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan said the shipment, which was sent through air cargo, landed in one of the warehouses in Pasay City.
The shipment containing four kilos medicines was misdeclared as a US$15 worth “plastic boxes” consigned to a Filipino with address in Tondo, Manila.
“This is another scheme of evading the required License to Operate and Certificate of Product Registration from FDA on the importation of medicines,” the BoC said. (Ariel Fernandez)
