Gospel: Jn 14:1-6
*
JESUS said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Writing to Timothy, Paul says, “For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus, himself human” (1 Tm 2:5).
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus declares, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” (Mt 28:18-19). Jesus enjoins his disciples to gather all peoples to belong to his Kingdom.
Jesus invites everyone to enter heaven, the Father’s house, where “there are many dwelling places.” He will come back to fetch us and bring us to dwell in the heavenly rooms where all believers will be united with the Holy Trinity. As Mediator, Jesus is the “Way”; as one who has seen God and knows God, he is the “Truth”; as one who is risen and has everlasting life, he is the “Life.”
