BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjamin Magalong lifted the lockdown over areas in five barangays with previous coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases effective Sunday, May 10.
Magalong issued Memorandum 54-2020 ordering the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) and heads of the barangays to open the Teacher’s Village, Sto. Tomas Proper; San Luis Ext., Woodsgate Subd.; Purok 1, Camp 8; Sitio Sto. Niño, Bakakeng Central; and Sector 5, Dominican-Mirador.
Magalong said that based on the reassessment done by the city’s contact tracing teams, lockdown is no longer necessary in said areas.
They were, however, reminded to still follow enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) rules.
Meanwhile, Magalong issued Memorandum No.56-2020 directing BCPO to implement lockdown over Barangay Padre Zamora effective 1:00 p.m of May 9, 2020.
The memo said despite the imposition of the ECQ, reports have reached the mayor’s office about blatant disobedience by residents of Barangay Padre Zamora, who loiter without facemasks and defy physical distancing. (Zaldy Comanda)
