ON Facebook recently, I introduced a friend of mine, Albee. He’s 21, a captive bred, 18-foot long albino reticulated python.
He has been under my care for many years now, dating back to the time I was still single. He still lives with us at home in Manila.
I was reminded of Albee when I came across news recently that a new snake species of green pit viper snake has been discovered in India.
The new snake is called Salazar Slytherin as inspired by a character in JK Rowling’s “Harry Potter” series.
It will be commonly known as Salazar’s pit viper.
According to India Today, the new snake was discovered in the forests of Arunachal Pradesh.
