THE Department of Health said yesterday that there are 81 COVID-19 patients in the country that have participated in the World Health Organization Solidarity Trial that aims to discover effective treatment for the dreaded illness.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the 81 patients were from 24 participating hospitals. “As of May 10, we have 81 patients enrolled in 24 sites,” said Vergeire.
The DoH had earlier said that 500 slots have been allocated for the country’s COVID-19 patients in the international clinical trial.
The WHO clinical trial involves four possible therapies in treating COVID-19.
