The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has resumed clearance processing on Monday but only in places under general community quarantine (GCQ).
The NBI informed the public in its latest Facebook post that clearance processing will remain suspended in areas under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and modified ECQ (MECQ).
Those areas include the National Capital Region, Laguna, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Zambales, Angeles City, Cebu City, and Mandaue City.
NBI cearance is a certificate issued by the NBI to a person which shows he/she has no derogatory or pending criminal record.
The NBI suspended the processing of NBI clearances last March 18 following the imposition of the ECQ in Luzon.
Pursuant to the directives set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), the NBI advised the public that the agency is implementing guidelines which have to be observed in securing clearances in GCQ areas.
“All applicants must register online and paid online before going to any NBI clearance center,” NBI told clearance applicants.
“Applicants must strictly follow their preferred appointment dates,” it added.
In getting the clearances, the NBI said escorts will not be allowed and applicants are required to wear masks and observe social distancing at all times. (Jeffrey Damicog)
