DAVAO CITY — A 4.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Malita, Davao Occidental at 9:56 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its advisory released at 10:10 p.m., the epicenter of the earthquake, which was of tectonic in origin, was located 7 kilometers southeast of Malita.
The tremor occurred at a depth of 174 kms.
According to the agency, Intensity 3 was felt in General Santos City and Malungon in Sarangani province; Intensity 2 in Alabel, Sarangani; and Intensity 1 in Tupi, South Cotabato.
No damage was reported and no aftershocks were expected, Phivolcs said. (Antonio L. Colina IV)
