CHURCHGOERS better not forget to wear their face masks especially when attending Mass, as Catholic churches will be implementing a “no mask, no entry” policy under the “new normal.”
Father Jerome Secillano, executive secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Public Affairs Committee, said the move aims to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
Even in the CBCP recommendations and guidelines for the liturgical celebration in “new normal” condition, it was also indicated there that “the faithful attending the Mass should all wear face masks.”
Among the arch/dioceses that will implement this when public celebration of Masses resume are the Archdiocese of Manila, the Dioceses of Cubao and Balanga in Bataan.
A number of dioceses in the country have yet to resume public Masses which were suspended last March following the government’s imposition of the enhanced community quarantine due to COVID.
