CITY OF ILAGAN , Isabela – Authorities arrested last Monday a drug peddler who yielded almost P700,000 worth of marijuana during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Abut, Quezon, Isabela, police reported Wednesday.
The suspect, Boyet Dugwawi , 20 , a resident of Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga, was nabbed by police and anti-drugs operatives at about 3 p.m. on May 25, according to police report.
The poseur-buyer managed to buy from him bricks of dried marijuana leaves worth P690,000 placed in a back pack.
The arresting team composed of local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents also recovered from him a P1,000 and the boodle money used as buy-bust money, and an android cellular phone.
Captain Frances Littaua , Isabela spokesperson, said the suspect initially transacted with the intelligence operatives of Ilagan City Police and agreed to deliver marijuana in the city but he changed his mind.
The suspect opted to meet instead with the poseur-buyer in Brgy. Abut, Quezon, Isabela due to strict quarantine checkpoints. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
