A barangay hall in Pasig City has been closed after an official tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a late night post on Mayor Vico Sotto’s Facebook page, he said the premises of the barangay hall of Barangay Sto. Tomas were closed to allow its officials and employees to undergo quarantine.
He said that for those who are acquiring a barangay clearance and have other immediate concerns with the office may go directly to the Office of the City Administrator at the Pasig City Hall.
Those who were in close contact with the official will undergo a PCR test to ensure their safety, according to Sotto.
He urged the people not to panic, saying that he and other barangay officials only did what was necessary so that everyone can have a proper quarantine and test.
Residents are reminded to stay home and, if they really need to go out, should wear face masks, observe social distancing, and practice proper handwashing. (Dhel Nazario)
