STA. ROSA CITY, Laguna – A suspected hitman of a drug group was killed in a police anti-illegal drugs operation Sunday night at Purok 1, NIA Road in Barangay Macabling, here.
Suspect Dennis Badilles Caratihan alias Barok, 40, a construction worker, was the alleged hitman of the “Vallejo Drug Group” operating in the 1st and 2nd district of Laguna and Muntinlupa City, according to Colonel Serafin Petalio II, Laguna Police provincial director.
Petalio reported that around 7 pm., operatives of the Sta. Rosa City Police Intelligence (SDET) under Lt. Col. Vicente Amante, city police chief; and the Regional Special Operations Unit -4A( RSOU-4A) led by Lt. Col. Melvin Montante conducted a buy-bust operation against Caratihan.
As the buy-bust was consummated, the suspect noticed that he was transacting with a policeman who posed as a buyer. He immediately drew his firearm and fired upon the lawmen, police said.
The cops fired back, killing the suspect. (Danny Estacio)
