Six Indian students were arrested by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Pasay City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) after they yielded P128,040 worth of marijuana during a buy-bust operation in Pasay City last Thursday afternoon.
Police identified the suspects as Sumanth Raju, 22, the subject of the police operation; Diju Moses Rengaswamy, 25; Mohammad Yusuf, 22; Angir Kula Pavan, 23; Nagendran Gugan, 23; and Sai Santha Kumar Dhamodhran, 22, all billeted at Central Park Tower in Pasay.
They were arrested at about 3:20 p.m. inside a room on the 18th floor of the condominium, according to police report.
Police said that PDEA operatives in coordination with the members of the SDEU conducted a buy-bust operation against Raju, who was allegedly selling marijuana to Indian national students.
The operatives swooped down on the unit being rented by Pavan where the drug deal was made. They also caught the suspects engaging in a pot session inside.
Recovered from the arrested suspects were 32 pieces of small heat-sealed transparent sachet containing dried marijuana fruiting tops, six pieces of small zip lock transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana seeds, one bundle of marijuana stalk, one plastic sando bag with marijuana seeds, and drug paraphernalia.
