IMUS CITY, Cavite – The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in this city increased with the new cases that were reported lately by the authorities in the area.
The local government of Imus reported on Monday that the city has now 71 cases with the six new cases from different barangays that were added to the list by the city epidemiology and surveillance unit (CESU) on Sunday.
Imus, the capital of Cavite, was in third spot in terms of COVID-19 case numbers in the province after neighboring cities of Bacoor, with 143 cases, and Dasmariñas 79.
Mayor Emmanuel Leonardo Maliksi reported on Monday on his Facebook page that the city has a total of 71 confirmed cases with nine deaths and 45 recoveries, and 17 active cases.
The cases increased by six from his June 10 report.
Maliksi identified the six new cases as Patients #66, a 52year-old woman from Barangay Medicion II-C, now under strict home quarantine; #67, another woman aged 29, from Bucandala IV, admitted to a private hospital in Metro Manila; #68, a 58-yearold man from Bayan Luma II, confined in a health facility in Antipolo City, Rizal; #69, a 44year-old man from Malagasang II-C, confined in a public hospital in Cavite; #70, an 81-year-old man from Anabu I-F, admitted to a private hospital in Imus; and #71, a 22-year-old woman from Bucandala V who was placed under strict home quarantine.
