Authorities raided on Saturday another underground clinic being operated by a Chinese national in a posh subdivision in Paranaque City.
According to lawyer Ding Soriano, city administrator, the raided clinic is located on the 3rd floor of Morgana Building on Multinational Avenue in Multinational Village, Barangay Moonwalk.
Soriano said the alleged operator of the illegal clinic, identified as Cai Yongchun, 51, is now under the custody of the police. He will be charged for violating the Philippine Pharmacy Act.
Soriano said the clinic was treating Chinese nationals, mostly working in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) firms.
The city administrator added that aside from conducting COVID-19 tests, the clinic also treats sexually transmitted disease (STD).
The police found in the adjacent room of the clinic 64 boxes and 40 plastic bags with Chinese characters, containing assorted medicines and medical supplies.
Several Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs), stethoscopes, and blood pressure machines were also recovered by the raiding team.
The clinic was the fourth underground health facility discovered in Paranaque City. (Jean Fernando)
