DARAGA, Albay – Two drug suspects were killed in a police buy-bust operation in this town on Tuesday night.
Albay Police Provincial Office (PPO) spokesperson Captain Dexter Panganiban identified the slain suspects as Glen Ivan Serrrano and Jose Carlo San Jose, both residents of Purok-5, Barangay Rawis, Legazpi City.
According to Daraga Municipal Police Station (MPS) report, police operatives conducted a drug sting against the suspects at Purok 3, Barangay Tabon-Tabon in Daraga town around 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
After the transaction, the suspects reportedly noticed that they were transacting with a police officer, prompting them to flee on board a Mitsubishi Adventure GLX SE (EBY 520) but they were blocked by a back-up police team.
As the cops introduced themselves as policemen, the driver of the vehicle later identified as Jose Carlo attempted to bump the lawmen’s motorcycle.
The suspects then got of their vehicle and fired shots at the arresting officers.
The cops retaliated, killing the suspects.
Panganiban said plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a weighing scale, personal belongings, and the boodle money used in the drug bust were recovered from the suspects. (Niño N. Luces)
